  • Amazing. Almost exactly one year since the last update, and I'm managed to get it all back online. And you thought I was gone, didn't you!?
Where did the site go? I have no idea. Awhile back, the server that it resided on literally disappeared. I had no warning that it was leaving, I had no idea where it had gone, but it was gone. And it took all of the site with it, leaving me with no recent backups to put up elsewhere.
Fast-forward about 8 months, it's early October 2001. I find the physical server on some cable modem and manage to get into it, rescuing my poor lost files and database. A real ISP (Sentris) and a few changes here and there, and we are up and running. Yay!!
  • Cobras!! - I'm getting into the business of building custom AC Cobra replicas. In the spirit of keeping themustangshop.com a non-commercialized site, I'll be setting up a seperate site for the Cobra business shortly. Keep an eye out here for updates on all that here.

  • The cleveland/windsor head swap article got corrupted somehow and wouldn't display... Fixed it this morning.
10-17-00
  • After many many people telling me the link to the Engine Analyzer program in the downloads section wasn't working, I finally went off to fix it. The wrong filename was in the link. To everyone looking for that program, the link is working now :).
10-15-00
  • Had a little problem with the "Reader's Rides" page that was causing errors when someone tries to upload a file. Fixed it, you should all be able to upload your photos now.
8-24-00
  • Sigh... That's right, the server has been down for quite awhile now... Long story short and simple, something I was running was leaking memory, downing the server and all other sites on it. Our wonderful ISP (who is nice enough to let me host the site and do what I want with his server) didn't like his own sites going down so he stopped my sites. New software, so far, looking OK. Can't wait for the telco to get my 1.5Mb line out here and then we won't have to worry about any of this :)
6-18-00
  • ACK! Our server was moved to a new location with about 2x the bandwidth and was acting rather flaky for about 2 days. Everything should be back to normal now.
6-14-00
  • I just found out that the site was featured in Mustang Monthly! Apparently everyone knew but me :). Thanks a lot guys!
  • Which reminds me, I've got so much stuff to put up and no time. A few things in the works are engine specifications (torque specs, bolt patterns, clearances etc), a national listing of Mustang clubs and a vendor database to replace the one I finished but then accidently nuked :(. Gee, I sure wish I had some people to help me out with some of this =] Let me know if you might be interested in helping out by doing some data-entry.
  • Cleaned out the classifieds, there were ads dating back to April of '99...
6-12-00
  • I Made a few tweaks to the message board to make it more usable and will be working on it some more... It now orders topics by the last posted message and displays the last posted date. Makes it a lot easier for keeping up with the posts.
  • My poor collection database is so outdated, I'd really like to get it updated with pictures and whatnot.
10-13-99
  • The site is now reachable only at www.themustangshop.com, all Mustang stuff has been seperated from wabba.net
  • Rewrote a lot of the site on the backend
  • Added a feature to turn off/on frames (for some reason), up in the left corner of the screen
10-12-99
  • The Mustang Shop section of wabba.net is now reachable directly thru www.themustangshop.com
  • 10-11-99
  • Added a shiznat load of images to the archive.
  • Re-wrote the Reader's Rides section. Takes about 10 seconds to add your car. Go do it. =]
  • 10-8-99
Attempting to decide if I want to redo the interface or not. After spending a couple of hours and then comparing what it is now to what I had tried, I think I'll stick with what we've got. It's simple, it's fast.
  • Look for a bunch more content in the Resources section soon, I'll be cleaning up the Message Board, loading up the Image Archive and adding to my collections database within a week.
  • 7-29-99
Added a page to keep track of the status of my new shop being built.
    7-10-99
Did some minor updates and tweaks to the Message Board-
  • Redid a bit of the interface, cleaned up the look so it's less annoying since it looks like some people are actually using it
  • Reversed the order that the message topics are displayed in so that the newest ones are at the top, in a day or two i'll add the date the topic was started
  • It was annoying and difficult to reply to messages since you couldn't see what the other people had typed, so I took out the "Add Message to Thread" link and replaced it with a form at the bottom of the message reading page
  • 4-13-99
Added quite a few new useful things to the site -
  • A VIN/dataplate decoder, check this out, please let me know if anyone sees any problems with this.. Most of the data was grabbed from the '65-'73 Mustang Recognition Guide as well as a few other various books... So if there's any inaccurate data either they're wrong or I can't type :)
  • Engine Math Calculator, figure your compression ratio, horsepower and a couple otehr useful things. Hopefully this will be regularly updated with new wonderful formulas to make our lives easier
  • Mustang Collectibles, started an archive of all the Ford stuff that I collect.. The big feature is the die-cast cars, most everything should have pictures. Right now i've only got about 1/3 of everything in there.
